The Thorverton

A new colour scheme and layout for the Thorverton Lodge was becoming overdue, now completed, the transformation has brought a whole new level of luxury.

With muted, earthy colours, blush blue fabrics, velvety textures and brush metal finishes comes a new image!

Large French doors take centre stage and are beautifully dressed with blush blue floral fabric – Aqua Haze, with pinch pleat heading and bonded interlining for that extra luxury and warm. Roman blinds give that feel of home comfort. Fabric covered box pelmets add to a Mediterranean feel and give the windows a lovely soft edge. Simple additions can make a difference too – ceiling lampshades are in a matching blush blue silk.

There are vaulted ceilings throughout and all are in a simple tongue and groove panelling and painted in soft white, which bring a clean crisp vibe to this home. The kitchen, lounge and dining room are all very much open plan, breathing plenty of space and light into the area. The kitchen units are soft close and have hidden handles for a smooth easy clean line and selected in Flint Grey, high gloss to give a high impact!

Block colour painting on certain walls can feel fabulously stylish, these are implemented in the lounge, main bedroom and the twin bedroom, and also the mellow colour of the rest of the walls and modern furniture keep the space looking serene. The furniture is designed to offer the perfect balance of contemporary styling with a much-needed practicality and versatility. The distinctive, European – influenced collection of wooden furniture throughout gives a really inviting look and sits perfectly in position with the natural oak brushed oiled engineered flooring.

The 2 large standout sofas are of a soft velvety texture in deep chocolate and is the perfect seating area that‘s as pleasing to the eye as it is sociable, it is also functional and completely anchors the scheme together.

There is plenty of storage in this home, everywhere! A large fitted cupboard with two solid doors (which, are incidentally fitted throughout the home), are painted in a soft olive grey and 3 full height open shelving units with under drawers with hidden handles and an olive grey detail greet you as you enter the side entrance.

Bedrooms

The master bedroom is glamorous – in a soft, understated way. It‘s all down to the soft pastels, carpet and beautiful window dressing with sheer curtains for a spot of whimsy. An elegant occasional chair and dressing table add to the comfortable glamour. The wardrobes are hidden away, around a corner and leads into a fabulous ensuite with a luxurious size shower area.

The twin bedroom is no less luxe than the master with fitted wardrobes. The muted colours and textures reference the materials used in the living area.

A carefully selected mix of statement pieces and different style influences give this gorgeous holiday lodge a homely feel.
