This next feature in our series ‘a day in the life of’ takes a look at our Health & Safety Facilitator Rob Hillman. Rob has been with Pathfinder Homes for around 5 weeks now, and is on a fixed term contract until the end of September. Before joining us here a Pathfinder Homes, Rob worked for Mighty LTD, a facilitating company.
Below we take a look at how Rob, spends his day in Health & Safety.
I wake up between: Normally at around 4.30am
I start my day by: First of all I take my dogs for a walk, then I go for a run by myself
I’m responsible for: Developing positive Health & Safety culture with PH, preventing accidents and injuries through education
The best thing about my job is: The best thing is the people that I get to work with here.
My favourite work memory so far is: Whilst discussing safety issues in the work place, Tomas rode past us on a pallet truck, completely oblivious that we were there. Not the best thing to do in front of the H&S facilitator!
Advice I’d give to somebody getting into this industry: To work in Health & Safety you need to understand the industry that you are going to be working in.
7am: On the way to work in my silver car, listening to simple minds and having a sing along
8am: At work & having a cup of tea with Carrielea and Reggie & preparing for the point to point meeting.
9am: Speaking to third party company’s (Suppliers and contractors)
11am: Spend time with production managers offering advice and assistance where possible.
1pm: Eating my lunch, normally a lot of fruit!
2pm: Doing some research on government legislations.
3pm: Walking around the factories and site making sure standards are being upheld.
4pm: Finishing off for the day & driving home.
6pm: Have dinner, take the dogs out and either get to the gym or to the driving range!
