Interior Design Blog: Feeling Wild
Whilst in this present time, we don’t feel very free, there’s nothing stopping us from going wild. Embracing the great outdoors, just inside. And, perhaps trying to satisfy the need to travel and explore, our Interior Designer has created a mood board and project plan based on the growing jungle and safari trend.
Allowing us to expand our horizons, bring back earthy tones and welcome striking prints and bold finishing back into our homes. Yay!
Whilst we are being advised to stay home and some of us aren’t fortunate enough to have an outdoor space, house plants are even bigger that ever before. From spider plants, cheese plants and cacti to stunning living walls. Bringing the outside in has never been more prevalent, not just to bring interiors up to date, but also the health benefits are mind blowing; You can ready more about this here.
So, how far can we really go embracing the outside in? We really have gone all out… we aren’t just bringing in plants, we’ve got monkeys, lions and zebras at the ready. You don’t have to go the whole way but hopefully this will inspire you to have fun with this.
A stunning collaboration of bold monochrome colours mixed with natural tones. This harmonious relationship is renowned for creating a relaxing and warm environment.
A look for all seasons
Tasteful, timeless and tropical. If you feel it’s a bit heavy for the summer, you can throw in a splash of pink and some rattan and create a whole different feel ready for the season.
There’s plenty of inspiration not just here or even across the internet, take a look outside! To get this trend right, it doesn’t have to cost the earth. The beauty of this trend is you can recycle & reclaim existing pieces to get the look. Think about old furniture you already have, can you re-purpose or reuse? Quite literally, go wild. Use what you find.
Most of the items featured in the board are from the high street & online stores including: Maisons Du Monde, Wayfair and IKEA but you need help finding a piece that’s featured – please do get in touch, we love to talk design!
